It tasted good

I have never been very good at making cakes. No idea why even though as a child I spent hours helping my mum make them. Hers always turned out beautifully risen and she never weighed anything. She just put everything in a bowl, a quick fold of the flour, popped it into the tin and hour later there would be a gorgeous Victoria Sponge or a Cherry Cake or what ever she thought we would like for tea. I have tried it that way and then when they didn't work out I careful measured all the ingredients and followed the instructions. But they have never been light and soft as she used to make them. Sometime they sink in the middle. The boys still joke about my attempt years ago at a carrot cake . Better known as The Lopsided, Sunk in the Middle Carrot Cake.
This chocolate cake I made today was slightly better than some of my other attempts. It did however taste delicious so that's all that matters really isn't it?.
