I'm hardly at home nowadays and making the most of the break from work. Last weekend we went first to see our friends in the Southampton area. We had an excellent time and it was so nice to be in the company of their two delightful children. I didn't want to leave as I always love going to this part of Hampshire and would jump at the chance of moving to live there if only it was possible. Anyone want to buy a very small house in Kent with a sea view on a clear day?

After having lunch on Sunday with the the Cripps family we set off for Devon and the next part of our trip.

Early Monday morning we visited Lyme Regis. This is a place that has been on my 'places to visit' wish list for years and it didn't disappoint. OH and I strolled along The Cobb and I explained to him about the scene in The French Lieutenant's Woman and also how Jane Austen mentioned it in Persuasion.

After that we went on to Seaton and Beer. were we stopped for a short while and then in the car on to the next port of call..................

Well, we wouldn't mind doing a direct swap, Rosie - Kent would be a bit nearer for us when we want to pop over the France. ;)

No Sal, not Totnes this time. Although reading your blog and seeing all the lovely places to visit has made me want to visit there soon. x

Sorry Jenny, I like living within easy reach of London nowadays. I would get withdrawal symptoms. Let me know when you are passing through Kent again on your way to France. You are welcome to drop in. x

Glad you are enjoying your summer break! Lyme Regis is one of my favourite places - I love it though haven't been for a while - I wish I was there now:)
