On our trip up to Scotland in the summer we stopped off on the way at a few places. One of them being a town on the Scottish border called Duns. It was the home town of the racing driver Jim Clark. A hero of OH's since he was a boy.

On first impression the town itself looking uninteresting. We pulled up outside the house that contained the museum dedicated to the F1 driver and realised we had time to spare before it opened. OH suggested we go and walk around and see if anywhere was open for coffee. There behind the main road we found a delightful town square with shops and a cafe. If we hadn't arrived so early we would not have known what a delightful place Duns is.
We eventually went back to the museum and were greeted by a friendly man who was a volunteer there, making us feel really welcome . We spent an interesting time (albeit a little sad) looking at the things the town had collected in their famous sons memory, before continuing on our journey to Edinburgh.
