On a clear day

On a clear day from our bedroom window we can see the English Channel and at night time we can see the twinkling lights of Boulogne sur Mer. But as you can tell today from the window I can only see a few yards.
From another bedroom window our little garden is covered in a blanket of snow.

An interesting day at work. I struggled in at 7.30 this morning through the snow and icy roads and there I was to open up the doors for Breakfast Club at 8.00. It has continued to snow all day but we kept the school open and the children did go out onto the fields and make snowman and throw snowballs. We heard of other schools closing and going home early but still we kept going. But hey there was a light at the end of the tunnel and it wasn't another train coming. No, at 2 o'clock this afternoon, the clapt out old boiler in the bowels of the building started to hiss and spit and finally it came to a grinding halt. So tomorrow we have the day off. Bad news the snow is now melting.

What a great place to live, Rosie. Do you fancy doing a house swap? It would be so convenient for our trips to France!

Relax.. put your feet up!
I would do the same if I wasn't faced with piles of vintage sewing to keep me busy in front of the wood burner.....

At least you don't have to worry about getting to work today - hope you are enjoying your day off. How wonderful to be able to see France on a clear day:)

I really enjoyed your photos of your yard and view Rosie. It interests me to see how other people live in other places. I hope you take some more photos from those same views on a clear day.
