A new week starts thank goodness.

Last week was tough a work. We had the dreaded OFSTED inspection and just in case anyone reads his blog who knows where I work I daren't say how it went until the results are published. I can't even say some of the other awful things that happened at school apart from the inspection. How I would love to and could rant about the education system, the pressure teachers find themselves putting up with, parents who blame the school for absolutely EVERYTHING or how some children seem to have lost respect, manners and a few who think that the games they play on a computer can be played out in real life in the playground. Oh no, I have probably said too much already. Jenny at Demob Happy Teacher and Sally from Sally Writes you are well out of it and if I have another week like the last I will be joining you. I'm off now for some much needed retail therapy. I'm going to buy some high heel shoes and consider a new career !

As someone who has 'been there, done that' regarding speaking out, I would advise caution, as unfortunately, the powers that be have a tendency to be paranoid when faced with anything like criticism! My commiserations to you for having to suffer a visit from OFSTED. At least they won't be back for another 3 years, all being well.

rosie, I feel for you. My husband left his teaching job at the end of the Summer term last year because of all the frustrations, extra admin and constant checks and monitoring just so that the poor and unsupportive management can tick boxes to meet government targets. Blow the teachers feelings and health as long as they have another box nicely ticked. We are a lot poorer now but at least he is happy and healthy and the blood pressure is down :) Also his evenings are free from all the extra work he used to do.

Hope you enjoyed the shopping:)
