A New Year

It's that time again to look back and reflect. The heralding of another year and still in the same old rut has frequently back in the past left me depressed. I decided to aim smaller ( winning the lottery, writing a best selling novel was never going to happen) so for the last few years however I gave myself small targets (never calling them resolutions). I think that everything I set out to do in 2007 I achieved, well almost. Promotion at work, fabulous holiday in Scotland and the Lake District, finally going to The Country Living Christmas Fair and a few others.I realise how luckily I am.

This year we hope to be even more adventurous, we plan to move house again and for once we have no exact idea where to move to. The boys are grown up and it's the ideal time to try somewhere different. We want a property to renovate but where that will be who knows. It can be anywhere . All I do know that it won't be in Kent. House prices are higher here than a lot of other areas and we feel it's time to move on and try something new.

Moving counties or countries is not alien to me. Over the years we have moved many times. I have however stayed in the same area now for over 12 years after returning to UK from living in France for a short while. This gave the boys some stability and they benefited from an excellent education at the local grammar school. They are away most of the year at university and so they are happy for us to move on as long as it's not too far to come home whenever they want to of course.

I'm very much looking forward to reading what other bloggers have planned for the year ahead.

There are some great places in North Wales - and we could compare our breadmakers! (Now I'll have to get it down off the top of the fridge and dust it off!)
